Great Britain Collection From Penny Black to 1970 in Davo Album Huge Cat Value

  
This is a lovely collection in a well filled Volume 1 Davo album. Starting with a 4 margin penny black (small tear at top) and 3½ margin 1840 2d blue, the collection continues with high value QV and Kings stamps (mainly used to QEII). There are a good number of penny red plates with numbers up to 107 complete (less 77 of course) and other higher catalogued later plates. There is nice a nice cut to square 6d embossed and very good basic representation of early surface printed issues with 1855-57, 1862, 1865 and 1867-80 mostly complete except for a couple of stamps. Of particular note are the 1867-83 5/- stamps - a plate 1 wmk Maltese Cross and plate 4 wmk Large Anchor.

It is worth noting at this point that all pages to KGVI are duplicated so there is often more than one example of a stamp. This is the case for the QV Jubilee, which is complete twice over to 1/- (both colours). KGV again has some useful duplication including seahorses (3 x 2/6, 3 x 5/- and 2 x 10/-). KGVI period is complete with Silver Wedding mint and a useful range of 1937-48 values, many layered on one another, including two 10/- dark blue. QEII is nearly complete, missing just a few wildings and commemoratives.

There are a good number of castles. There aren't any officials, but the pages are there, however there are a good. Condition overall appears to generally be good, including with the early issues and highest values (KEVII has a top right corner fault). However, please note that I have not checked any reverses or gone through anything in detail, including the duplicated stamps, for watermarks etc so there may be a few stamps in the wrong position or sideways/inverted watermarks etc to be found. Please also note that there is a slight smoke aroma. Please see the images below for all stamps.
